Re: cold sore
Do you mean a canker sore?
I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of some REALLY nasty canker sores that I'm unfortunately prone to! I've found Pyroxel mouth wash (made by Colgate) is pretty good.... I've also tried pressing a brewed tea bag on it (black tea) and that has helped a little-- not sure how much because at that point, my canker sore was on its way out anyway so not sure if that helped it heal or it was just it's time.
Good luck!!! Those are the WOOOOORST!!!

Re: cold sore
use orajel. or as i prefered, baby orajel. (the adult stuff left me too numb) it will at least make it easier to eat until it gets better.

Ohhh no not being a baby at all, those things are unbearable!!! I heard Lysine (from the vitamin section) is recommended for helping to prevent them.
I've been ttc so long and always been too nervous to take any extra supplements without being sure of its effects... so I have no experience, but it may be something you wanna check out for prevention! Feel better!!

At one point way back when, I avoided any cold sores for a year by taking Lysine. Now it just does not work for me and I get them frequently. It is worth trying even though it stopped working for me. I swore by it. I don't know if it works for canker sores and I am not sure I would take it when TTC.

Re: cold sore
i get them all the time, i hate it. I have been taking the lysine and that has seem to be holding at bay. but as for canker sores, i just keep doing the oragel mouth sore and that seems to help, at least with the pain.
