NYC Teacher Questions
I have a few questions.
Are you able to go in earlier than September 4th to set up your classroom?
When do you get a class list?

ETA: I was just offered a position recently. I am hoping to finish up all my paperwork soon (finger printing etc.) Should I email my principal and ask?

1 - every school is different but my principal usually gives us permission to go in the week before school starts
2 - i got my tentative class list for next year about a week before school ended, i think most schools give them out sometime in June.

We got our schedule for next year the last week of classes.
We won't get an actual class week until we have to officially go back according to the DOE calendar.
We go in and out all through August for different PDs and per session (if you choose). I think the week before I can have classroom access due to building construction.
