Fairway

What do you usually buy at Fairway? Any specific products?

I'm obsessed with their balsamic vinegar. The best! Also love their sour pickles.

Fairway

I buy a lot of cheese at Fairway. I also buy their bagels - they're cheaper and they last a little longer. Also organic milk and sometimes fruits and veggies.

Re: Fairway

I love Fariway Douglaston.
It's a vast improvement over Waldbaums.

I buy :
fresh produce
deli items
olives, pickles
cheeses, especially fresh mozzarella
fresh bread, bagels
fresh fish
meats (when on sale)
grocery items (when on sale)
their brand EVOO
specialty baking items

Fairway cakes are good too, and cost a lot less than the so-so bakeries where I live.

Other staples I buy at Waldbaums because they cost less, like pasta, bottled dressings, coffee, cereal, organic milk, some cleaning supplies.

Re: Fairway

Fairway is my favorite market. I do full shopping there. Their prices for general groceries are the same or less than stop and shop and waldbaums.

Their cheese, meats, coffee, produce can't be beat!

I agree but they don't have the best prices on everything so I end up at shoprite for basics sometimes.

I think they are great for cheese, appy, produce for the most part and vinegar and oil. Also, their baguettes are to die for.

Love their olive and pickle bars.

The meat department is gourmet and basic and they have prime and choice cuts. Not cheap though. Fish is excellent too and for some reason they have shrimp cheaper than anyone.

I don't think there is a shop rite near me. I have heard they have better prices than waldbaums and stop and shop. I find fairway to be comparable or better than those too.

Are there any shop rites near long beach or the garden city/westbury area? We are in that area a lot, so I'll go to stores over there since there are more than in the LB area.

Shoprite has the best prices by far. I coupon and follow a lot of couponing sites and they have the best sales. Unfortunately there aren't very many of them. The closest one to that area is Uniondale bordering on Merrick.
