I'd love to know too. I've been dying to get one. But honestly, I think the only foods I'd do are strawberries and pineapple. Don't know if it is worth it for those.

Re: food dehydrator?
I bought my first one , a Nesco, at Bed Bath and Beyond. I loved it but it took a lot of time and there wasn't that much space. I only tried the fruit in it. I also found you needed to switch around the stackable trays often to help speed up the time.
I bought an Excalibur a few months back and LOVE IT. I find the food is done a lot faster and you don't have to constantly switch around the trays. I just tried Turkey jerky in it last weekend and DH loves it. I've also made almond meal, crackers and dried fruit in the new one.
The excalibur is on the expensive side, so I would try a cheaper one first to see if it would be worth it before splurging.
