Question about Birthday Parties and School

DD is in K. I'm in the midst of planning her 5th birthday.

Obviously school just started so she hasn't developed close relationships yet although she does have some kids that were in her class last year in her class this year. So my question is do I invite the entire class for her birthday or only the ones she "knows"? I don't want to exclude any kids but 20 kids on top of the 15 family member kids I already invite is kind of $$$. TIA.

Re: Question about Birthday Parties and School

I don't think it is necessary to invite the whole class. Mail invitations to her friends who were in her class last year.

Re: Question about Birthday Parties and School

I'd just invite who she's close with. My DD's birthday is coming up and I didn't invite anyone from school :( I just don't want to spend $$$$$ on a 5th birthday party.

Like MrsBumbleB said, mail ones to her friends.

I know "the rule" is you may put them in the folders if you are inviting the entire class but you have to mail them if you are only inviting select kids.

Re: Question about Birthday Parties and School

I don't think there is a right and wrong but I would opt for either the whole class or, in your case, just the girls. I decided that the kids who my child sees every day are probably most important to him, plus he'll be in school with them for years to come.

We are facing the same issue...but, I asked the kids, and they just want their "old" friends from nursery school (3 of them) plus my friends kids...that is it and I am sticking to it!!!

Re: Question about Birthday Parties and School

DS's birthday is the end of November however last year in Kindergarten (even this year for his party), he invited select kids from his class.
