Please Answer a Couple of Questions For Me Regarding my Child Going onto Kindergarten Next Year
What month is usually registration for school? I am so clueless about what I need to do this year to be ready for next year.
My DD has her 4-year well visit next week. Will she get shots now, a year prior to entering school or will they prob tell me to come in the summer before the start of school?
Thanks, just starting to think of this all!

Keep an eye on your district's site- I never got any info from my district, but I signed up for emails and checked the site regularly. Registration will probably be next spring and I'd be surprised if it wasn't held over a couple of months. I think where I live it began in March and I registered DD in April.
My DD turned 5 in March and I don't remember if she needed to get any shots but if she did, she had them then. Your ped will probably let you know if she needs to return in the spring for other shots. My district also required a dental visit, but I don't think that's mandatory.

I didn't check the schools website, I called in January this year for fall enrollment.
I gave them her physical from her last well visit, 4 year old, and when she goes this week I'll give them that one. I think,she gets a flu shot now and that's it.

I had to pre-reg DD in the fall. Then registration was in January. Forms were on our district's website. The dates were on the website and our preschool also posted a reminder.
As far as shots. DD is June so I didn't worry about it. They had us do the MMR booster at 5. So you would either need to do it at her 4 yr annual (I think annuals are good for a year with the district) or what I would do would be to set up an appointment to get the shot over the summer.

I called our school district in January as well. Enrollment was one day in March and testing was over a period of three days in June.

The Kindergarten Registration Packet on my district's website is 20 pages long.
There is a registration week where you need the packet, medical forms, proof of residency, etc.
Towards the end of the school year there is Kindergarten Screening and Kindergarten Registration.
