fighting doc office over billing?

about a month ago my DH rec'd a bill for $125, he went to the doc a few months ago complaining of tiredness and the doc told him to do a physical, well lo and behold we found out our insurance company does not cover routine physicals over age 19... after we rec'd the bill, we informed the billing dept at the doc office that it wasn't routine as my DH was not well, and should be re-submitted as such, and they said they would take care of it... well today we just got another bill for $228 for the same thing, does this make sense? I have to call the doc office in the morning as they're closed today but I was just wondering if they give me a hard time is there any steps I can take?

We had the same problem at our dr's office. I fought and fought and the doctor insists that DH came in for a physical when he did not.

I'm still very angry about this. We are now in the market for a new doctor b/c it's clear this doctor either 1-wanted the money 2-doesn't care about his patients and/or 3-Does NOT write notes accurately.

I'm so curious if it's the same doctor!

is your doctor in massapequa? thats where this doc is located. we definitely are NOT giving them anymore business! i can't believe it, so ridiculous. i'm mad that i shredded the old bill b/c they told me to get rid of it since they'd resubmit the claim. hope i am not screwed though but i didn't know if there was a way to take it to a "higher power" because it really is unfair!

Dr. was not in Massapequa. My DH's stupid Dr. resubmitted the bill too but he didn't change the code (he left it as a physical) so of course it was not paid. We told him directly that he lost patients b/c of this and he didn't care. Moving on!
