What's with steel cut oatmeal?
I keep hearing a lot about it in terms of healthy eating.
What makes this better/different from regular oatmeal?

It's so good!
I hate regular oatmeal, but this tastes so yummy.......like warm sticky rice.
I get this often for breakfast and have made it at home in the crockpot.
I also believe the nutritional content is a lot better.

I'm not quite sure....but I tried it once and thought I was going to be sick.
Obviously, everyone has different tastes preferences, but I just thought it was downright nasty.
However, I have baked with it, and it was fine like that.

Re: What's with steel cut oatmeal?
I think it's just a less processed form of oatmeal -- the oats are less broken down than in rolled, quick cooking, or instant oats. I would think the nutritional content would be relatively the same, although maybe there is more fiber in the steel cut oats than the more processed oats.
I like a heartier, chewier texture, so I like it.
