vomiting after sedation

My kitty had to be sedated at the vet today because she tried to kill everyone basically lol. (Seriously i don't get how she is the sweetest cat, but the minute the vet comes in she turns into an attack cat.

Anyway, about 5 hours after the appointment she is walking around, getting more alert and ate. She then threw up pretty soon after. Now she is eating again. I only had a little bit of food in her bowl so she is not overeating. But i dont want to not have anything in the bowl because she hasn't eaten in a while.

Does anyone know if vomiting after sedation is normal, or if I should be concerned? I can only find info from googling about effects after general anesthesia, but not a local sedative.

Re: vomiting after sedation

When we took our dog in we where told not to let her eat/drink after 8 pm & she couldnt eat until 6pm that day incase she threw up. Maybe she ate to soon? Hope she is feeling better.

TY all. Just wanted to update that my kitty is fine Chat Icon. The vet has email consultation so I emailed her and she actually responded to me at 11pm!!!!! She had said to limit her food since she is so out of it, until the next morning, but the throwing up was no cause for alarm. She is back to her old self again! Chat Icon
