Hospital visits to grandparents- need input.

My dad is in the hospital receiving treatment for cancer. He's on a pretty intense radiation schedule and will be in the hospital till at least the end of the week. I live about an hour and a half away and am planning to come see him, but I'm on the fence about bringing my 6 yo DD. She visited him a couple weeks ago (when he was waiting for a procedure and we didn't know it was cancer) even though my mom had told me not to bring her. But it really made his day and she wasn't at all rattled by his condition.

Now he's a lot sicker and looks it. But I don't want to keep her from him because I do feel it helps him. I'm just not sure if it'll be too hard for her. She doesn't know how sick he is- I'm trying to be optimistic myself but I am not going to kid myself.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I always thought that you couldn't bring children around someone who was recieving intense radiation , but I could be wrong. If it is the case you may have your answer without making the decision.
I would find out and then go from there. If you do take her i would prepare her and let her know that "grandpa is really not feeling well so he may not look like grandpa"

Thanks ladies! It turns out that he doesn't want to see anyone right now- even me- which I guess I understand. I think we'll wait till he's home.
