I always buy top round. I think it's more tender!

I agree! I just made 2 of them. I paid a little extra for Angus, and I think it was worth it.

Can you tell me how you make yours...I've had them at people's houses & love it, but have never made one.

Sure- I blended two marinade recipes. You can really wing it, or google and you will find a lot of options. For 2 london broils (total about 3lbs) I used 1 cup olive oil, then eyeballed balsamic vinegar, garlic, worcestershire, dijon mustard, pepper.

DH was working and we eat early, so instead of grilling, I broiled 7-8 minutes per side, and let it rest about 5 min. Then I sliced really thin.

Definitely top round. I think of bottom round for more slow cooked dishes (like pot roast).

I use the following marinade and get rave reviews:

1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
6 garlic cloves, minced
3 T chopped fresh rosemary
1.5 T coarsely ground fresh black pepper
1 tsp salt

Score the meat with shallow diagonal cuts on both sides, and place in a ziplock bag. Whisk together all marinade ingredients and pour over the meat in the ziplock. Push out extra air, seal ziplock, and marinate in the fridge for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight. Broil or grill 5-10 mins per side, depending on thickness of meat and your desired level of "doneness."

I think the key to good London Broil is to be careful not to overcook (medium rare is best, imo), let it rest before slicing, and then slice it very thin on the diagonal.
