Can anyone please recommend privacy shrubs/ fast growing shrubs for the yard? I am clueless when it comes to all things garden. Thanks!

p.s. I am a regular poster who unfortunately had to go into the infamous "hiding" Chat Icon

Leyland Cypress. They grow about 3-4 feet per year and they spread out quickly too.

Leyland Cypress and Thuja Green Giants are great options, the latter a bit pricier but more lush.

ETA, we have green giants that act as a fence along our our corner property...VERY happy and luckily our town does not have restrictions regarding height of shrubs which allos us for more privacy vs. a fence.

How tall do they get? We are looking for privacy on the side as well but I think we do have some restrictions.

they can grow to as tall as 8-12 feet, you have to trim them a couple of times per year.

We used Emerald Green Thuja/Arborvitae along our patio because we didn't want the trees to get too tall or wide.

Along our fence line we have Spring Grove Thuja which is considerably bigger, but won't get as big as Green Giant Thuja (both in height or width.)
