i turned it on today. a little over a week shy of november. i tried to wait, but it was too cold for me this morning.

Nope, I am going to try to hold off as long as possible. I do have a little electric fireplace in my living room to get the chill out of the house.

no, not yet. Just wearing more winter type pjs to bed, heavier blankets. By afternoon its comfortable in the house. Mornings are cold but not enough to turn the heat on just yet.

My oil company HATES me! Hates!
What is a pellet stove? Is it like a wood burning stove? I WISH we could get a wood burning stove, but our house is small and there is literally no place to put it! I keep telling dH that if we ever add on, we're including a fire place or stove!

we have both and if we had to choose we'd keep the burning stove. It gives off much more heat then our fireplace and circulates better with the ceiling fans on. Also want to add we save a lot of money with our stove. We also used it to cook and make coffee during the Sandy hurricane as well as the heat :)

I caved last night and put it onto the low 60's.
My room was freezing when I went in there last night because I had left the window open.
Closed that right away!

I caved yesterday--I was so chilly. We keep it in 65-68 range, so it really doesn't kick off until night and early morning. I was actually hot last night when sleeping, so may turn it down a notch tonight.
