Yeah...still feeling crappy (no pun intended). Going to primary tomorrow to see if she can prescribe something so I can at least get out of the house and go to work, take care of kids. I know its not a cure but I'm willing to try anything to help with the anxiety linked to this!

I take zoloft now for anxiety/depression and it is working very good. I tried lexapro before the zoloft, but it made me too tired. I'm also taken effexor in the past, but that was more for depression than anxiety. Everyone responds to these meds differently, so it can be a bit of trial and error at first.

Also, I would try to find a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner for the meds over your pcp. They are better trained in what kind of meds are good for certain symptoms.

I barely eat anything now. I have been gluten, sugar, caffeine-free, carbonation free for months. I eat the plainest of plain food. Thanks for the info though

Anti Anxiety medication?

My husband takes anti anxiety meds. I will have to update later what he takes but it works for him. If he is not on his anxiety meds he isn't fun to deal with.

Anti Anxiety medication?

I'm of the meds for ttc but if I have emergency Xanax to help when it gets bad. I started on Lexapro but it took so long to feel a difference and for me when it started to work for some reason I wanted to drink all the time ( I'm not a big drinker). I switched to Zoloft (100 ) and it worked fast and it really did help until I came off. I've had anxiety in some way or form since childhood and into adulthood . These drugs really can make a difference in your day to day life.

Anti Anxiety medication?

You may want to consider checking with your GI doctor before starting anti anxiety medication. Many common medications used to treat anxiety work on serotonin receptors and there are lots of serotonin receptors in the gut- so it could cause your IBS symptoms to flair up.

Re: Anti Anxiety medication?

I take Xanax on an as needed basis. The doctor increased my prescription from .25 to .50 because I felt it wasn't helping. Honestly, I don't think it always calms me down though. Maybe for me it's mind over matter. I know quite a few people on Xanax and it has worked wonders for them
