Fixed Oil Contract
Has anyone broken one? We are thinking of switching to gas but are halfway through our contract and they are threatening big fees if we cancel early.

Converting to gas can take months, sometimes even years from what I've heard. If you're just thinking about it and haven't started the process yet, you might not have to break the contract.

If you just sign a contract for gas conversion now chances are you will not see the work done til spring at the earliest.
My neighbors converted and they put all the papers in to Keyspan in late summer and the work was just done the week of xmas.
