Reading chapter books to DD
DD wants me to read chapter books to her at night and not just picture books. I grabbed one off the shelf at the library and she likes it but it is more like a chapter book she will read herself in a few years. I would love to read a great story to her that is a higher reading level. I remember my first grade teacher reading the Boxcar Children I don't remember the story. Other Suggestions?

Reading chapter books to DD
Winnie the Pooh (there are two originals by AA Milne, and a more recent novel), Charlotte's Web, anything by Roald Dahl, Ralph S. Mouse, the Ramona series (or any of the kids books by Beverly Cleary)...

My dad used to read me Stuart little, charlotte's web, Ramona Series, James and the giant peach, pippi longstocking.
What about these series:
The magic treehouse books, rainbow fairy books, princess posse.

Love Pippi Longstocking!! Amelia Bedelia is good too-- they are longer like chapter books, but have pics. Frog and Toad are longer with pics too.
