LI IVF girls...

This cycle will be my 3rd IUI and I spoke with my RE yesterday and we decided that I'll keep trying IUI's but come fall time if nothing then I'm going to do IVF. My question for you ladies is for those of you that did IVF through LI IVF did your doctor actually end up doing the transfer and retrieval? If it wasn't your doctor that did it then Who was it? Do they at least always have a doctor doing the transfers even if its not the one assigned to you? With IUI's they have the nurses doing those but wíth IVF I would want a doctor working with me. Just wondering how this all goes down, I'm clearly clueless abt the whole IVF process. Thank ladies!

One more question: where are the retrievals done? In a hospital or their office? Don't you have to be under general anesthesia?

I have done two IVF cycles with LI IVF. My doctor is Dr. Kreiner. For the first one, he did the retrieval and another doctor did the transfer. I can't remember that doctor's name but he was very nice. It is done in the Melville office and for the retrieval you are under general anesthesia.

For the second IVF, Dr. Kreiner was on vacation so I had Dr. Kenisburg do the retrieval and transfer. It all worked out OK. The only thing that upset me throughout the entire process for both IVF's was that the second time, the doctor would not allow my husband to come into the OR to do the transfer. The first time, the other doctor did but for whatever reason, Dr. Kenisburg does not allow anyone else in the room. That was upsetting to me, and we didn't find out until they were literally wheeling me into the room! Other than that, to me it didn't really matter who did the retrievals and transfers, they are all competent doctors.

I had no idea that they have the nurses doing the IUI's.

My first fresh if my dr (brenner) did my ER, but keinsingberg did the transfer. The frozen cycles it was always brenner that did them...i think that it was because I was taking extrace and they were able to schedule around brenners schedule. My 2nd fresh cycle dr kouchanan (I think that's how you spell it) did my ER and kreiner did the transfer. DH was only allowed to come in with kriener. It's up to the dr if somebody can come in or not.

LI IVF girls...

Dr Brenner was my doctor. For my first cycle, dr kuokukkan (I butchered that spelling!) did both my ER and transfer. 2nd cycle, Dr Brenner did my ER and Dr Kenigsburg did the transfer. Last cycle, Dr Brenner dd both.

I wasn't a huge fan of Dr Kuokukkan, but Kenigsburg was great.

Thank you all so much for the feedback ladies! I feel better now I just wanted to make sure that the doctors would be doing both the retrieval and transfers. I pretty much figured that only the doctors do them but I wanted to make sure. I feel much better now thanks ladies!!

Dr. Zinger did my retrieval. Dr. Kreiner did my transfer. My RE was Dr. Pena.
One Dr. does all the retrievals and transfers scheduled for that day.
