Oily Skin UPDATE

My face feels like an oil slick!

I have had oily skin in the past. Usually combination skin. but lately, I have some serious grease face going on here and because of that I have quite a bit of small pimples along my jaw line.

I didn't change anything. I am constantly rinsing my face with water and blotting with paper towel.

What can I do?

I know I was told oily skin = young looking skin. and never use soap. ever. BUT I'm so desperate, I'm about to wash my face with Dawn dishwashing liquid!

UPDATE:
I started using the Murad on Friday and so far so good. My skin feels a lot less oily and I think my acne is beginning to clear up. Thanks for the recommendation! I got just a sample, but will be buying myself a bottle. I love the way it makes my skin feel as well

I don't want to mess with the sexiness, but have you tried using a mud mask or a clay mask?

I did. Mud and mint masks. Works for the day and then it starts all over again

In that case, have you tried using witch hazel as an astringent? Also, you may have some luck with mineral makeup and/or powder.

Re: Oily Skin

Hands down best thing I ever used for keeping my skin from being an oil slick...Murad Oil Control Mattifyer. Pricey but a little goes a long way.

I'll try the witch hazel today. I hate the way it smells but I'm desperate.

Cherry juice? Hmmmmmmmm Maybe Chat Icon

This is happening with no make up on. I guess I'll try that make up to. Starting with witch hazel bc that I have in the house already.

The Murad is actually not a make up and you can wear it under make up or alone. Definitely check it out.

Re: Oily Skin

This is going to sound crazy but I have heard it a bunch of times.

Do you moisturize your face?

Sometimes when your skin feels like it is getting dry, it over-compensates and produces more oil. For example, on an airplane, where the air is really dry, your skin may get oily and break out after a long flight.

I do moisturize. I use the same stuff forever. One for day time, one for night. I did the witch hazel and then a mint mask today. A few hours later? Oil Slick. Ughhhhhh

I'm going to look into that murad. Somethings gotta give.

Is there a Sephora that's convenient for you to get to? They'll give you samples of anything you want, so you don't have to spend $$ trying to find something that works. They've also got a great return policy, so if you buy something and decide it's not for you, they'll take it back. I think they carry Murad.

Ulta carries it too if you have one near by.
They don't have samples but you can buy it, try it and if you don't like it, they take back opened product as well.

I love that stuff.
Can't live without it- especially in the summer.
Pricey but worth it.
