We're getting a puppy!
DH and I have finally agreed on a dog. Unfortunately, and I do feel guilty over this, it is not going to be a rescue dog. We will be getting a labradoodle from a reputable NY breeder. I know some of you won't agree with that choice, but this is the right dog for us. The temperament is perfect for our family and the non-shedding was big on DH list. I have done my research and I know we have chosen a great breeder. The litter isn't due until early June, so we won't have the dog until late July or early August.
I am beyond excited. I've been ready for this for a few months now and thrilled that DH is 100% on board.

That is great!! We pick our labdordoodle memorial day weekend. I found a breeder in PA and we were there yesterday for family day. She meets with the families to decide which pup fits the family dynamic best.
I can't even tell you how cute they are and the daddy was so calm.

I felt the same way!! The next litter we were eligible for was this one and the first time I spoke to the breeder was Nov. Or December. She wasn't sure who she would have honeymoon. This has been a long few months

Congrats!! I felt the same way while I was waiting for my puppy to be born. Will the breeder send you pics as he/she is growing? Its so exciting to see them from new borns.

Yes, they send pictures weekly of the whole litter. At 4 weeks we get to pick our top 3 picks. But ultimately the breeder makes the final decision which families will get which puppies. They base it on our preference, the families needs in a dog, and their temperament testing.

You are entitled to get the breed you want! Don't feel guilty!! Post pics asap! My friend just got a black labradoodle from a NY breeder out east (actually like 6 months ago) She is such a great dog and so super smart.

Congrats! I have a labradoodle too! They are great dogs! Very smart, sometimes we think she thinks she's a human. We got her from a breeder in WV.
