Chicken Pox
DS was diagnosed with chicken pox on Sunday. The doctor said once he doesn't get any new spots than he is allowed back at school. He hasn't gotten any new ones at all since Sunday, but I was thinking of letting him go back to school on Thursday. Would you as a parent mind if he went back then? He would have been contagious for the past two weeks really, since now he is pretty much all healed up. I just don't want any other kids to get it, nor do I want parents to be mad that I let him go back. I have asked several doctors and they all said that would be fine. Thanks for your opinion!!

I'm not overwhelmingly a germaphobe BUT I would probably keep him home through next Monday. JMO

Yes, they're all scabbed over - very mild case.

Then it's fine. If they weren't, then he would still be contagious. Most school age kids are vaccinated anyway, since it's required.

Re: Chicken Pox
I would go by what your ped said not people on here. The ped won't want your DC spreading it so I would follow their rule.

Re: Chicken Pox
Just because they have the vaccine doesn't mean they are protected my DD had the vaccine and she was just blood tested and isn't immune anymore. Whereas my older DD didn't have the vaccine (wasn't giving it back then). she had the chicken pox and is still immune.
