updated: Need quick help re: tipping workmen
Do you tip the people doing work in your home? We have a company installing CAC today. Should we be tipping the men? This just dawned on us...

Need quick help re: tipping workmen
IMHO I tip all workers coming to the house.
Is it expected? No. Do they appreciate it? yes.
Plus, if they are doing the CAC, they might have to come back to the house. You can bet they will be in a good mood coming over after being tipped.
So I always tip.

I'd also be offering them water throughout the day. It's hot for them!

we tip, although we never really know how much to give. we also try to offer water if they are working outside, but i dont know if DH did when we had gardners come this weekend

NO NO NO. you are paying them a lot of money to do the work. They get paid a real wage not below min wage.
Tip servers etc. not Construction workers.

Updated - it was 5 men, and they were here until 8pm last night finishing the job. DH bought them all lunch/dinner.
thanks again for all your input. it feels pretty awesome to be sitting here at a comfortable temperature!
