Tell me the pros and cons of going short

I'm thinking ear/chin length. My hair is naturally curly which is why I've never done it. But I also know that hair grows back. Just need to hear some thoughts on going this short.

Pros:
- Summer is coming and it won't be on your neck and shoulders
- Less maintenance

Cons:
- You can't just stick it up into a bun or a ponytail when its annoying you
- It'll be in your face

I tend to chop my hair once a year. It grows fast then I get bored and chop it to my chin.

Pros - easy to manage after cut. Cute and fresh and it changes your face. At the beach I put it in a clip and let a few strands fall to my face that looks good or put a head band around it.

Cons - I hate the in-between look so once it starts growing out you either have to wait a bit or chop it again. You probably still have to blow-dry it every day to keep it looking nice since it gets messy easily and you can't just throw it up.

As a fellow curly girl, I will say that chin length is great, ear length totally scares me and I wouldn't do it, personally. Chin length with some shorter layers is super cute for my curly hair though. But it is definitely true that you can't put it up for a while.

Worth it, though!

I chopped my hair off earlier this year.

A lot of people said the look suits me better, I look younger and it's more stylish.

I have straight thick hair normally so it tends to just hang.

When you go short though I feel like you need to go more frequently for cuts.

And out of the blue one day the shape is just lost so you may find yourself calling randomly one night for an appointment.

Short is fun though because you can also experiment more with hair accessories and even different funky earrings.

Less shampoo/conditioner. Just cut mine off and have to remember not to pour so much lol.

Have to get very frequent trims - maintenance!

It is def easier to blow out and care for shorter hair. It's also a lot better then long hair in the summer heat.

I think the biggest con is that short hair really tends to make faces look fuller. The frequent trims are also a con.

I say go for it but I like changing my hair for the reasons you say..just make sure you have someone you trust!

I have curly hair and I went short for some time. Pro's you always look nice because you HAVE to do it. No pony tail. But, that is also the con. No pony tail on a rainy or humid day.
