May be a dumb question....TOH Permit ?

Just a question regarding permits for the town of hempstead....

I want a semi-inground pool in the future and know the rules and permit process for that....but... do you think I would need a permit for a raised paver patio?
I would want it raised around the backside of my "future imaginary pool" which would be directly next to my pvc fence...the pool would be legally far enough away from my neighbor.

I know that if it was a wood deck, I'd need the permit and it would also have to be 4 feet away from neighbor...but what about a raised paver patio? TIA

But not a dumb question at all! Permits and CO issues are so confusing on LI. It's like the worst part of my job, lol!

I would just call TOH (anonymously, without giving your address), but it probably depends on several factors.

For example, how "raised" is raised? You don't need a permit for a wood deck if it's under a certain height (I want to say 8 inches, but don't hold me to it).

Also, keep in mind that there are rules regarding what percentage of your property can be covered by structures, such as pools, decks, sheds. If what you are proposing will exceed what's allowed, then you are in variance territory.

k thanks....I want it to be as raised as the semi unground pool.... so probably, what, 3-4 feet......I've seen people photos of decks and raised pavers but they are flush to their fence...but it looks like on the town's site, you should really be 4 feet away. I'm just trying to do the "right" thing permit wise
