do you need a permit to put a fence up for TOH?
Just curious to see if we're going to need one to put one up in the new house?

we are currently going through this now with a new fence from TOH.
they are telling us that it has to be 4ft, or we need to get a permit .
which is BS because i guarantee you many homeowners don't have permits for their fence.
they are just hammering us with permits with our house.
we have to get a new fence because we have a pool, and our current fence has the nice side towards us.. so we have to get new fencing all the way around.

Where in ToH do you live? That is my town but I'm in a village and needed a permit.

i want to say 99% yes... i am sure you could put it up w/o permits but if it gets found out, or if you ever have to sell you will need to provide the permit... right now we have a permit issue with our fence (we are TOH), but the previous owners have to provide the permit by september 1 or we get money set aside in escrow.

My friends just bought in Merrick and had to have part of their fence removed because they hadn't filed permits with the town. They have a corner plot, so that may have been why, but you might want to make sure so you don't have the same problem.
