Birthing Classes- What do you recommend?
I'm 24 weeks. I have been looking into Bradley classes and Hypnobabies. Due to the amount of classes I am having trouble finding classes that fit into my schedule and I wouldn't be able to attend them all. I am leaning towards Bradley as I would like to have a natural birth but I know thats not always possible. The Bradley classes are a lot of sessions. I know the hospital has a lamaze class but I have heard and read they really aren't worth it.
Have you taken any good classes? If so what are they and any info you can provide will be helpful. I'm not set on any one type of class or method. I would like to learn about the process of labor and my options with medications/interventions etc.
So please recommend your classes. THANKS!

Re: Birthing Classes- What do you recommend?
We are in the middle of our Bradley method classes and so far, I'm super happy with them. I'm shooting for a natural birth as well and I think Bradley helps to not only prepare you but whenever I feel doubtful or scared that when the time comes, I won't be able to do it, I always feel much more empowered and confident after coming out of my Bradley class. The time commitment is something to consider. Our class is 12 weeks long - once a week for 2 hrs but it's at my instructor's apartment with 3 other couples so it's nice and informal. Ina May Gaskin's book is also a must read!

I did Bradley. Ours was a 12 week class so you have to start when you are pretty early on in the 2nd trimester to finish up before delivery. I found the classes to be very helpful, especially for my husband and definitely went a long way to helping me achieve my unmedicated birth.

my friend did hypnobabies and it just sounds so great... this is most likely what we are going to do but the Dr said it's like a class in school- the closer you take it to the test the better you remember the details. so we are waiting a couple months. :)
