fire Island
Does anyone own a home on fire island? Thinking about looking into one and just wanted to get some feedback.

I do not but we have been doing some looking around there because we are considering buying sometime next year. We have rented there quite a bit in the past. What kind of feedback are you looking for?

How does the homeowners insurance work? Can you even mortgage part of it or does it have to be all cash?
I haven't started looking yet, I am going to wait until winter.

Yes, you can get a mortgage. As far as homeowner's goes, what I have learned is that most people transfer the former owner's policy into their name. I'm not exactly sure how that works but apparently it does.

my brother owns two home over at davis park on fire island. I know back in the day when he purchased the homes it was really hard getting home owners insurance on the places.
