Hunter boots - original tall or short?
If you have Hunters, do you have the tall or short? Preference? I'm leaning tall but really have no idea.
Also, if you have them, do you also have separate snow boots?
TIA.

Re: Hunter boots - original tall or short?
I love, love, love my tall hunter boots. It keeps me warm during the cold season. I do plan on buying snow boots though.
ets: I have the socks that go with them and they keep me very warm. Sorry should have noted that when saying them keep me warm.

tall - if you're walking through the city, IMO the short are a waste ......sometimes those puddles are a foot deep!
but they do NOT keep your feet warm. They're just rubber boots. I do wear mine in the snow when I commute and/or play w/ the kids but I wear 2 paris of HEAVY socks -

Yes I don't have them but I was going to say, I could see the water getting right into those short ones in those puddles. Also, I am glad you posted this because I was going to ask if they were warm- to me they never looked warm, just like rubber rain boots.

Agree-- they are not warm at all. My toes freeze in them compared to feeling toasty in uggs.

Agreed, nothing beats them for the rain but I would not wear them as snow boots.

I just googled he Kamik boots. They look nicer than Hunters actually. If you have those, why do you want Hunters too? I can't imagine the need for more than one pair of rain boots! (actually i don't even need ONE pair of rainboots since I don't really commute to NYC except on a rare occassion)

Very valid question. I have an older version of THESE - they are lined and I feel like they're not really rain boots but not really snow boots. I use them for both purposes. I also don't commute to Manhattan (sadly my commute is from garden city to... garden city) so i'm probably out of my face right now. Pregnant and confused, maybe? I just feel like i want something a little nicer. Maybe new snow boots is the way to go?

Those are actually really nice and definitely rain boots. They look no different than Hunters. I'd save your money on Hunters since you have these and get new snow boots. I feel like on Long Island- where we go from our house, to our car, to our office, we really don't need rain boots, which is why I never got them. Snow boots though, you will always get use out of around here!

I think you're right. Thank you for talking some sense into me! I never have good answers when DH asks me what I want for my birthday and I was trying to come up with ideas so I thought this was a good one to give him. I'll pick out snow boots instead!

I have the tall with boot socks, but I wear uggs when it's super cold and snowy
Eta: I actually really like my hunters and wear them all day sometimes if they look cute with my outfit

I have the short and live them, but I am not a commuter. I tried to the team and felt like they were uncomfortable.
