3rd trimester Moms-work question?

Just wondering what if anythings you've changed regarding work demands/schedule etc since being in your 3rd trimester especially closer to the end?

I know a good chunk of us are working until we deliver to maximize time home once we deliver. But are you still doing your normal work schedule?

For example I've started making my doctor appointments in the morning and just coming in late (or like this Friday I had to make a 12:45 appointment so took 1/2 day BUT i'm really going to have to leave by 11 to make it (1/2 day is leaving between 12-1).

It's not every day/week I'm still at bi-weekly appointment's. Part of me doesn't want it to look like I"m taking advantage...other part doesn't care anymore and with a few short weeks away it's time to slow down anyway.

Re: 3rd trimester Moms-work question?

By the time I got to 36-37 weeks. I couldn't maintain my normal schedule. I had weekly gd dietician appts, I went 2x a week in the mornings for iv iron and had my regular ob appts (which took between 2-3 hrs most days). I tried to make late appts like 4:30-5pm so I would just eat at my desk and take lunch at the end of the day, but it didn't always work out and I was so exhausted getting home from appts at 7-8pm. I was/am lucky that my boss is very understanding, and at that point I was so done I didn't care. I barely got work done when I was in the the office anyway.

You aren't taking advantage, you are pregnant and the appts you are going to are necessary! It's not like you are just leaving to leave because you don't want to be at work.

Enjoy your last few weeks, the extra stress with worrying if you are taking advantage isn't good for you

3rd trimester Moms-work question?

im still on monthly appts but i've been leaving at 230 (1 1/2 hrs early) to let dogs out on the way to Dr, since many times we've waited 2 hrs at the office. Appt at 330-345. I dont plan on changing this. we dont really get a lunch break so if i have errands i run them during the day-- this is the same thing.

3rd trimester Moms-work question?

I'm at weekly appointments now and never leave work early. I work a full day then go home and take care of DS. It's stressful, but I have to do it. I do sit a lot more through the day.

For my DS I would just work my normal 8 hour schedule, I would make my doc appts after work. It was really rough at the end.

3rd trimester Moms-work question?

I am also working my regular schedule.... I don't have the option for after work appts so I have been making my appts for Friday afternoons. It's nice to get home early on those days.

I sit at my desk most of the day so it's not so bad for me

3rd trimester Moms-work question?

I'm 31 weeks and next week I have my 32 week appointment and will be going more often. Unfortunately being a teacher equals NO flexibility. There is no leaving early. You call in sick or you come in. I commute about 45 minutes each way, teach all day, and then stay after for about an hour every day. I am so tired when I am driving home. I'm hoping my last month of pregnancy I can leave work on time. Thats wishful thinking though. Oh and all Dr apps are made for after work.

Yeah I hear ya.. I just got a BFP for #2 and if it sticks, then I will probably have to do the same thing again Chat Icon Thankfully my DH is home to take care of DS. Its just going to be a loooooong day.

thats exactly what I do now. I'm working full time and nothing has changed. Just trying to make it to my due date, but at 30 weeks I can say I'm feeling pretty great so I don't mind working.

3rd trimester Moms-work question?

I worked full time until I delivered last week. Work was not flexible with a modified schedule. I wanted my 12 weeks at home. Scheduled my dr appts after work and mostly went alone so Dh could watch dc.

haha yea my patience is wearing thin too! Sometimes I think I'm crazy trying for my due date. It's funny because physically I feel fine, but I have very short tolerance at this point!

It so crazy-people ask me are you still working? I look at them like huh? I have no choice but to work up till the end. I wish I could stop at 36 weeks and just waiting for baby; but that cuts into my 12 weeks home and I'm not giving that up.
