Big Kid toy storage ideas
Our basement looks like a bomb went off. I am looking for some sort of a toy organization unit that doesn't look too babyish. I have twin 8 year olds. Any suggestions? Thanks!

We have bookcases from land of nod. They have a bin type shelf at the bottom and then two regular shelves for other items. They are nice hardwood furniture and quite versatile. I am incredibly pleased with their quality and the customer service. Flat Top Bookcases

We have this from IKEA. It might go on sale in the next few days. I think we bought it right after New Years a few years ago for $99.

We have some of the fabric bins from Target along the bottom. You can get them in a variety of colors.
If the open bookshelves bother you, you can mount a curtain rod on the top and hang curtains to disguise the clutter. Image Attachment(s):

These are great. I have two of them in my dc's bedroom. In our tv/toy room we have the Cameron wall system from pb kids. Cubbies up top which fit baskets if you like, drawers on the bottom. There are various configurations depending on how much storage you want but we have the one with the space for the tv in the middle.

My kids have a lot of crap. We have mostly Ikea shelves/cubbies in their playroom:
There's a Land of Nod unit to the left right behind the sofa (the Barbie house is on it.)

I have these in a walnut type color in my playroom. Similar to the ones someone else posted but top is open which is nice for "taller" toys. Had for quite a few years now and no issues and nice pieces of furniture for a playroom.

I also like the bins from land of nod the previous poster has under Barbie house. I have them in espresso in my family room and are real nice but the dark color did scratch easy. but they are great bins.
