Migraines anyone?
So I'm 13 weeks and had such a bad migraine yesterday and I woke up and I still have a headache today! Yesterday it started with a headache that was prob triggered from not having any caffeiene in the last two days. Then I had some coffee which helped then the auras started. I downed two bottles of water and ate something which seemed to help. I was hoping I would wake up and feel better but the headaches still there!
Anyone get migraines while pregnant? If so, do you know what triggers it and anything that helps relieve them?? I think mine was triggered by dehydration and not eating anything between breakfast and lunch.

Migraines anyone?
Yes! I never had migraines before, or at least not this bad. A few weeks ago I had one. I was in Costco and all of a sudden my vision became blurry, lost peripheral vision, flashing white spots, the works. Scared the crap out of me I thought I was going blind. Then about 15-20 min later the headache began. It was so bad I felt it through my eyes. Every step pounded on my head.
I told my ob and she said it was probably due to the pregnancy but wanted me to go to a neurologist just to make sure. Everything is fine. It's caused my pregnancy hormones and dehydration. A couple days before this happened I had a stomach virus so no question I was dehydrated.
The neurologist suggested taking magnesium daily to prevent them. He also said drink a ton and even eat. When your sugar drops it could happen. He said drinking juice kills two birds with one stone.

Re: Migraines anyone?
Almost same as above: never had migraines.
With my 2nd pregnancy, went to a mall to kill some time & lost my vision in one big, shining spot that slowly moved across.
I immediately got a BIG coke & drank it up (sugar, caffeine, hydration).
I never developed the headache & told my OB who also suggested a neurologist if it happened again. It never did.

I haven't been getting migraines but I have been getting headaches, especially at night for some reason. I try not to take medication each day for it but if its painful enough I will take tylenol. I talked to my dr. about it and he told me to take advil but not sure that I trust it.

The neurologist told me to take Advil, but I questioned him bc I was pregnant. He said it's safe in the beginning and should be avoided I. The third trimester. My ob told me to avoid it all together so that's what I'm doing.

Yup! I still get them at 22 weeks. I'm not 100% sure what triggers them. Lack of coffee is sometimes it. LOL. What I find helps the most when I don't want to take tylenol ( i only ever take one extra strength in a day) I take a cold compress and put it on my head. Top of my head, forehead and at the base of my skull. Then I take a shower. Let the heat hit me a little. That helps A LOT!

I get them normally and only had one when pg. They are most likely tied to the change in your hormones. Not much you can do. Drink some caffeine and sleep in a cool dark place.
