Blow Out Tips, Tricks & Tools??

Please share your tips, tricks and tools for achieving a salon-worthy blow out! I have long wavy hair with some frizz and no matter how hard I try, I can never get my hair super straight. I don't know if it's the setting on my blow dryer, the products I'm using or my technique

Big, Sexy Hair Root Pump for volume as a product.

I blow dry with a great blow dryer (I have a BabyLiss) upside down while using a great, big round brush to brush it out.

That makes me have great volume.

Then, I use my Chi with the round brush to style my layers toward my face and give the hair the shape I want - my side bang, etc.

A really good hair spray - done!

i have coarse, curly hair and wear it straight every day. i never, ever use an iron.
Here's what works for me-

A good, quality blowdryer is a must. No less than 1875 watts. I've tried probably every dryer on the market. The Rusk Speed Freak works great. Mine just broke and I bought the drybar dryer - so far so good, I'm very pleased with it.

A large, good quality round brush is also a must. Preferably thermal. Something that retains heat adds another level of smoothness.

Dry in sections. I have a shit ton of hair. I divide into 7 sections. I do bangs first (because that's where my curls get really kinky), then the section on top of my head right behind the bangs, then the sides, then top back, then each side in the back.

For me, product doesn't make a difference. I use very, very little. I also don't use hairspray unless i'm going to a wedding or something.

I have found that quality tools are essential. As a previous poster mentioned blow dryer must be at least 1875 watts. I am currently using the Solia thermal ionic dryer and have been very happy with it. I have also heard great things about the Rusk Speed Freak. For hair iron I still use a trusty 1" Chi that has been my go to since high school.

I don't notice that most products make much of a difference in my blowout one way or another but I do love Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner. I see a difference when I use that vs. other shampoo/conditioners. I also dry in sections doing the front first because it is my frizz/problem area and then working my way back.

Bear...How long does it take you to do it? I have similar hair to you (I think). Mine is crazy thick, wavy & course. It takes me an hour just to flat iron it. I can't imagine blowing it out myself. But, I would love to, so it doesn't just lay flat.

I second the rec for Olivia Garden brushes. I section my hair off and blow it out that way. I also need a HOT dryer. I currently have a Sedu and am happy with it.

I don't think products make a huge difference. I like Bumble & Bumble tonic and Straight but I will try other stuff and don't think it is noticeably different.

I LOVE it!!! I have long curly hair and this seriously makes me look like i had a blow out and I dont even need to iron my hair anymore.
