Hubby did it while I was in hospital (baby came a week early).
Honestly, an infant seat is really easy to do by following directions, even easier if you have latch in your car.

I just did it today and am due in 2 weeks. If you want to have it checked I would call for an appointment. They squeezed me in because I was due soon but the next available appointment was in 2 weeks. This is my first so I wanted to make sure it was done right.

First dd about 36 weeks so I could get it inspected.

We did it around 34 or 35 weeks and I delivered at 38 weeks.

Probably around 38 weeks last time. DS was born late so we drove around with that thing in the back for a while. I'll probably do it around the same time this time too.

I'm 38+w and haven't done it. In fact haven't taken it out of the box to wipe it down. We have to figure out positioning first, with DD's convertible seats. If you want to have it inspected make sure you leave time for that.

If you look up the reference post at the top of this board it has a link for inspection sites. I went to the one in east meadow.

we did it at 36-37 weeks but then i called the inspection places- some had closed down (maybe just for the winter? not sure) and some were only every few weeks. we ended up going to riverhead police yesterday and getting it checked. good thing bc tomorrow i am 39 weeks and it was in wrong! lol

this, ours came 4 weeks early, lol. He installed it after DS was born (we had time since he was in the NICU for 5 days, and I wasn't released until 4 days after giving birth b/c of c-section and pre-eclampsia).

Thanks everyone! I guess we will install ourselves and have it inspected. I am a worry wort and first timer so the inspection will give me piece of mind.
