Terrible cold

I have such a terrible cold and the dr wouldn't give me anythung I guess bc I dint have a fever (yet). My coughing is so bad the my stomach hurts. I'm scared to cough. I've been taking Robitussin DM but that only works for 2 hours. I can't sleep either. Also tea with honey and lemon isn't helping either. Please help. I don't know how much longer I can suffer through this !

I had this a few weeks ago. The only thing that gave me relief at night was 1 Benadryl liquid gel w/ 2 tylenol, and a cool mist humidifier. I ended up on antibiotic because it turned into a chest infection. But the above cocktail was heaven.

apple cider vinegar three times per day helps break up the mucus.

and i take echinacea too.

thank goodness im not coughin... but i've filled two small garbage pails of tissues from all of the sneezing and nose blowing.

I ended up on antibiotics for my sinus infection. According to my GP whose a family friend, t depends on where you are in your pregnancy in how willing they are to give them to you. In my 3rd they weren't worried about it as much. Of course I'm still coughing, but it cleared up my sinus infection issues. Although now 4 weeks later I think it's coming back. I wish I could take Allegra-D. Only thing that prevents my sinus infections.

Terrible cold

This past weekend I had a terrible cold and my whole body hurt! Sunday I went to a stat health and they told me I had an upper respiratory infection and double ear infection so they gave me zpac which cleared the ear infection up but the cold is still lingering! Sucks!

Thanks ladies! This is by far the worst cold I've ever had without needing antibiotics. I was so upset when I left the dr yesterday and he didn't give me any. I'm now going on day 5 of horrible coughing and sore throat. Nothing is helping me.

I'm sorry you're so sick. I'm coming down with something I think (my DD is sick) and my due date was yesterday. This winter sucks!

im going through this too! cought it from my toddler but im not getting better because I cant take anything. also being pregnant our immune systems are down. ive been coughing for 4 days now non stop. cant sleep. its horrible. I keep drinking decaf tea with honey and having chicken broth but im getting so sick of soup. I officially lost my taste buds today. ugh

I hate to say it but you could be In my world... Pregnancy related cough. They gave me antibiotics eventually and they did NOTHING. I've been coughing since November but it's been bad since New Years. My throat hurts all the time from coughing, I've lost my voice twice, and at this point everyone (GP, OB, allergist) is certain I'm stuck with it until delivery. I googled it, I know bad, but chronic cough from pregnancy happens more often then you think. Do you have bad allergies or ever have asthma? I have bad allergies. Usually Allegra-D does the trick, but sometimes I end up on nose spray, but I can't do either, so it's making the problem worse.

I hope they give you antibiotics and it clears it up for you. Because coughing for months is horrible.

I think it's just a cold I picked up from my DD, bc everyone that was around her got the same thing, except me and my mom seem to have gotten it the worst. I went to my ob who said just Robitussin and my reg dr and I had no fever and chest and lungs were clear so he didn't give me anything. He said it's just a bad cold that needs to run its course. But in the meantime I have now developed bruised ribs from coughing so much and I have barely slept. I'm hoping this passes very soon. I want to enjoy my last few weeks!
