What to pack for LABOR bag (not hospital bag)

i didnt read all the suggestions but i just want to let you know that i packed 2 separate bags and because of timing/ DS being in nicu/ VALET parking our car etc it was a PAIN to get my 2nd bag into the hospital. i would have felt stupid bringing so much into labor, but once we got into our room there was plenty of room to store stuff.

Okay sounds good. I think I'll keep it all together with a little bag in the big bag for him to grab and get stuff. Thanks!

Re: What to pack for LABOR bag (not hospital bag)

Here is my cray cray list…

Hospital Pack List

Camera & charger
Flip Camera or Camcorder
Cell & Charger
PJ – with button down top or tank, nursing nightgown
Black pants & other comfy clothes
Loose clothes to go home in (think maternity pants, etc)
Slippers
Socks
Flip flops for shower
Bathrobe?
Nursing bra
Nursing tank
Granny panties
Breast pads
Lanolin
Prenatal vitamins – I think the hospital gave me a vitamin to take
Mints/gum
Shampoo & Conditioner
Hair gel or other products
Soap (my hospital provided nothing!)
Lotion
Body spray
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
Lip balm
Ear plugs & Sleep mask if you have roommates – however you wont be getting much sleep with a newborn, plus the nurses come in like every hour to check you and the baby!
Hair tie
Comb
Make-up
Bath towel (the hospital one was small and scratchy)
Face washcloth
OB Paperwork?
Own pillow & blanket (Hub used the blanket)
Boppy pillow or My Breast Friend
LOTS of snacks & protein bars
Change/dollars for vending machine
Clothes for hubby
Magazines, Books, DVDs, Ipod (to use while in labor, after the epidural ofcourse!)
An extra bag to bring gifts home in

For Baby
Baby take home outfit
Optional but not needed: extra baby outfit, hats, mittens, socks, swaddle
Blanket to go over carseat on way home
Binkies
Baby book for footprints
Sleep Sheep
The hospital will provide diapers and wipes, if there are extras take them ALL HOME! Our nurse was nice and sent us home with like 100 diapers!
