DD told my secret!
So my 3yo dd heard dh and I talking about "when the baby comes..." and she is very smart, so now she knows there is a baby in mommy's belly. Quite a few people in her life are very pregnant, so she gets it. Anyway - yesterday I went to pick her up from daycare and a little girl comes running up to me and says, "DD says you are having a baby!" OMG, I was dying. I was so caught off guard I didn't know what to say! Then the teacher says to me, "Well, are you?" and I was so unprepared, I said yes, but I am very early. I am so upset because I am only 6 weeks and I wasn't ready to tell. I guess that's why you need to speak quietly around your little ones...they are not very good secret keepers!!!

Re: DD told my secret!
lol. Kids are funny. That's why I haven't told my 4 yr old yet. She'll tell everyone and I can't have that yet. If MIL finds out, everyone will. Plus I want to figure out my maternity leave before telling the parents I sit for anything. So, yes, having to keep the secret from her just a tiny bit longer, which is tough. ALTHOUGH I will say that she must have picked up on SOMETHING because a month ago ago at gymnastics she told her teacher that she was going to be a big sister. Everyone looked at me and I got beat red (was only something like 6 weeks then). I just said "Well, someday"

I really wish I had responded like that. But I guess I am so caught off guard and unprepared, I just copped to it. UGHH.

Re: DD told my secret!
Same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with #3. Daycare called me during the day and the teacher said is it true what DD#2 told me? I was like it depends what she told you (she was only 17 months!!). She said that you are pregnant. I said yes but I am very early please dont repeat just yet. She said she ordinarily wouldnt have said anything but 2 kids in the class had fifth's disease so they wanted to make sure they werent exposing any expecting moms. So in the end, my little big mouth was looking out for mama.

ha my 4 year old did almost the exact same thing. lol I am definitely more weary of what I say in front of her now..especially if I want to keep it a secret for a while!

Oh definitely - she is such a cutie. She is very excited. I am just nervous because I don't want her to get too excited and then something goes wrong. I guess she doesn't understand the timing of it all anyway.
She keeps saying she wants a little brother, NOT a sister. LOL.
