Another NYC DOE question
Can I apply directly to a school (send my resume directly to a principal) without filling out the ridiculous online application? Or do I have to fill that out and then apply to open jobs?
There are a few schools I am interested in, but have not filled out the NYC DOE application online. I am currently subbing on LI.

yes that's how I got my current job. But you will still have to fill out the application to get hired eventually. I was offered my position but then I had to go back and fill out the ridiculous application. Principals have the final hiring decisions.

Another NYC DOE question
you need to do both. I filled out the lengthly application, and then over the summer I drove around to schools and hand delivered my resume. Got a bunch of interviews on the spot
