FMLA question for NYC DOE teachers
Is it true if both you and your spouse are nyc doe teachers- that I get 12 weeks of FMLA and then DH gets another 12 weeks of FMLA? Currently I am on FMLA until May 23rd, and afterwards we wanted DH to take off the rest of the year under his FMLA.... is that possible? We are under his insurance. He took a week and a half off when my daughter was first born- not sure if that was under FMLA too? Also, because he would be going until the end of the year (only using up 5 weeks really in time), will our insurance be messed up since we aren't in school in July and August?
I've called and emailed the UFT office and got no response, so while I'm waiting for someone to get back to me, I figured I'd ask here ... Thanks so much

Yes, he can take his FMLA time and be insured...
