Aluminum wiring
We are considering purchasing a house that has aluminum wiring on some of the older outlets. Some outlets have been upgraded to copper as improvements were made on the house. Would you purchase a house with aluminum wiring or pig tailing?

Aluminum wiring
Our house has aluminum wiring. We hired an electrician to pigtail the house. It was a little pricey but combined with other things, so I don't know what that would have cost alone. The house was perfect for us and I could not let the wiring be a deterrent from buying.
If the house was less than perfect, I may not have, I don't know.
I don't even really know what the issue is with aluminum wiring. I suppose I could look it up, but I really can't be bothered.

Aluminum wiring
Aluminum wiring is a fire hazard and you will have a hard time finding insurance. If you do not disclose it and there is a claim resulting from the wiring, it will be denied.

We did and our original plan was to pigtail. We ended up re-wiring the house for peace of mind. We loved the house so to us it was worth it.
