What kind of things does a home inspector look for....

We are in the process of selling our home and the inspector for the buyer is coming next week to go through the house. Just curious as to what exactly they look at and for. I'm so nervous that they are going to point out things that we have no idea are even an issue!

What kind of things does a home inspector look for....

mold, building code issues (like any electrical things that they can notice), heating system, exterior things like the roof and siding to make sure there are no issues there, making sure the windows are good and not bowed (our inspector noticed some issues with he seller's basement windows when we bought), ours went into the attic to see if there was proper insulation up there, looks for cracks in ceilings or walls (only significant damage, though), looks at the outlets to make sure there are alot of three prong, checks the toilet in bathrooms and sink, checks smoke and CO detectors

In the kitchen, the inspector did alot for us- he turned on all the appliances, checked the range hood fan, checked the sink for leaks, and checked all cabinets and drawers to make sure they open and close well

That's all I can think of right now, but I covered basically all of it! They do a very in-depth check, but I don't think anyone has ever had a PERFECT inspection. If one window is bowed a bit, or you have some cracks in the walls, nothing will probably be said.

How is the land graded
Cracks
Leaks
Broken things
Do the windows work
Are the gutters properly attached
Are all of the electrical outlets grounded
Mold
Do the locks work
Do the appliances work
You should bring a detergent pod for the washers along with a dirty dish to see that the dish washer works. You should bring a detergent pod for the laundry machine. Run both of them to see they work.
