I need encouragement please
Im 39 weeks and my mom is here with me from florida waiting for baby. Every day i dont have the baby feels like a wasted day bc it shortens the time my mom has with baby. I thought i would go early bc i went early w my son but who knows. Im getting antsy and restless. At 37 wks i was long anf closed. 38 weeks i was 1 cm and 50% effaced. 39 weeks im 1 cm and 75% effaced. Ive had prelabor contractions. Looking for some positive thoughts to keep me going. Thanks.

The baby comes when he/she is ready. Just try to be patient and remember that the baby is growing just a little bit more before you meet him/her.
Maybe your mom can extend her stay?

Go out for Mexican food with your mom. 
It'll be here before you know it!! Hopefully your mom can stay longer.

Ask your OB to strip your membranes at your next appointment- it can help move things along. Keep active. Other than that use this time to enjoy spending time with your mom. Your baby will arrive soon enough.

Thanks for your kind words. Im still pregnant. And still have moments where im like, im losing my miiiiiiind! Been very hormonal so thats not helping. All moms are heroes because this is not easy!! I asked my dr to strip membranes 4 days ago. She said it wouldnt work for me bc im not ripe enough. She told me i could try castor oil if i want but that wont work either. Lol. I might try it anyway. I really dont get what has to happen for me to go into labor. I pray. I walk. I cuddle my 2 year old! Unfortunately my mom cannot extend her stay.

I know how you feel! I'm 39 weeks as well and could have sworn I would go earlier with this baby. I went earlier with my other two (before 39 weeks) and thought this third would follow suit...apparently not! My family is OOS as well, and everyone thought DS would be here by now. DD and DS keep talking to my belly and asking for their baby brother to come out. I've been having a ton of BH contractions, but they clearly aren't doing anything. Hang in there...we're at the home stretch!

Stay positive! Don't focus on the numbers. They can change in an instant. Walk, vacuum, do all the things you can do to induce labor. On the day I had DS1, I was barely effaced and half a finger tip dilated. They told me it would be a while before I had him and that they would see me the following week. That was at a 9 am appointment and he was born at 11:50 that night. DS2, I was fully effaced but not dilated at all at 11 a.m. I went home, walked, vacuumed, did laundry and he was out at 8:06 pm.
