Re: Rooming with baby?

He stayed in the room with me and my husband for my entire stay (except for tests and stuff).

Our reasoning was that we were first time parents and had no clue what it was going to be like at night. We wanted to "test it out" at the hospital knowing if we had a question we could get the nurse.

If I didn't have my husband stay with me every night, no way would I have been able to keep the baby as long as we did, especially recovering from a c-section.

I couldn't keep her with me, she was in the NICU. And I was so gung ho about nursing, that I practically spent the whole night her. I would go to the NICU every hour, because they said that would be the feeding schedule more or less, and I wasn't there, they would attempt formula. It was a hot mess.. so I wish she was with me.

Rooming with baby?

she roomed in, I was ebf so I don't think sending her to the nursery would have mattered she still needs to eat every 2 to 3 hrs. I also feel that early bonding time is important. For moms that ebf how did you manage sending lo to the nursery? did you pump and give it to the nurses?

Rooming with baby?

I kept mine with me for the first few days. I had a c-section and was breat feeding. By the 3rd night I was delirous because I was so tired so I sent her to the nursery for 3 hours to sleep. It was the best three hours of sleep I got that whole week. This baby I plan on rooming in as well but I am going to station DH at the door like a pitbull and tell people to stay away while I am sleeping!
