UPDATE Question for those who have had laser for brown skin patches
I had laser treatments for 3 brown spots. This wasn't the full face procedure that they do in some spas. It was a focused, stronger laser used only on spots that are especially noticeable. A dermatologist did it. I had it 2 weeks ago. The skin is fully healed but the spots are darker than before. Is this normal? I left a message on the doctor's extension. Have a feeling she will tell me to wait a bit longer. I was already scheduled to go back for a re-check after 6 weeks but I want some info now. She was going to treat it more then if it didn't totally fade. What options do I have if laser makes my spots darker? I already paid for the procedure. Am I supposed to protest that? Should I ask for a fade cream instead? Should I never laser any spots again if my skin truly didn't respond the way it was supposed to?
UPDATE: I went back to the doctor and she confirmed that the procedure failed. It's just a crapshoot on many people. On paper I have the right coloring for a procedure to work. We tried a different laser and it will probably require more than one treatment. So I have to go through the recovery again I hope it's worth it. I really hate wearing makeup and I'd be happy to have an even skin tone. The doctor is standing my her work and trying to resolve this.

yes its normal. they get dark and almost look like big chocolate chips on your face and then they flake off. I was advised not to exfoliate but I eventually did and I felt like I had new skin and clearer too.

I'm interested in having this done. Can you recommend a place?

I went through that already and it seems like it's just normal but darker skin that appeared. I don't see visible flaking anymore. I'm just concerned that I'm stuck with it like this, when I hated those marks so much for so long.
