trying to make a budget and consider the costs...how much did you tip fernando and his crew? there should be 3 people on site + him.

You don't need to tip for that. You're already paying a ton for the work to be done.

No tips, but I did provide them with a full cooler everyday (Gatorade and water).

I think we gave the workers $50 each. Plus water and lunch one day. They really went above and beyond for us though and helped us move and rearrange our hot tub, sprinker system, hose etc... They saved us a ton of money :)

Heck no! I paid a lot of money for that masonry work to be done in the first place! On the subject of tipping, I'm not a huge fan of the "lets tip everyone" mentality, especially around the holidays. I don't tip the garbage men, or the mailman, or the UPS guy who is at my house all the time with my Amazon Prime membership. I don't see the need for tips when someone is doing the job they are getting paid to do.

We didn't tip, but we did have an outside refrigerator stocked with soda and water, provided some Entenmann's snacks a couple days and I think we bought them lunch or breakfast the last day they were there. They were there for 10 days.
