Eating Habits
Do you really eat healthy? I eat a well balanced breakfast and dinner, lunch is hit or miss, some days on the healthier side, some days not so much.
My issue is snacking. I know what I should snack on, but lately I have been snacking with cupcakes, candy, chips, etc... I haven't gained much weight so far, probably around 5lbs, and I am 19 weeks. Is snacking like this really that bad?

Eating Habits
While pregnant, I ate how I would eat when I was not pregnant.
I typically eat every 2-3 hours. At work, I never bring treats since I have no self control. I allow myself one after dinner treat.

Eating Habits
No, not at all and I was a pretty healthy eater before I was pregnant. I've been sick the entire pregnancy and even with zofran I'm still nauseous and have food aversions. On top of that, whole grains and dairy have been wreaking havoc on my digestive system. I can handle some chicken or turkey but forget fish and I hate red meat. Cooked veggies bother me but I can eat salad.
I try to stay away from anything overly processed- no fast food or anything like that but I'll gladly eat pasta, pizza, potatoes, chocolate. So much chocolate! And I'm waiting for DH to get home for dinner and ate 2 big handfuls of chips, so you're definitely not alone.

Re: Eating Habits
I'm 31 weeks and have actually lost 3 lbs. I'm not eating super healthy, I just get full really fast so I end up eating less. I ate so much healthier with dc1. Now, all I want is candy!

Eating Habits
I have the worst eating habits ever to begin with. No breakfast, crappy take out lunch which usually covers dinner later that night. Now I've been at least drinking a carnation instant breakfast and trying to eat snacks like peanuts. I'm 22 weeks and noticed my appetite changing dramatically, I'm so hungry now. Luckily I haven't gained excess amounts and no weight anywhere but my belly.

Re: Eating Habits
I tried eating healthier but in my first 12 weeks all I wanted was sweets! I definitely gained weight (probably too much) but OB hasn't commented on it. I'm going for my 20 week appointment today. I'm not eating as much or as often as I did in the beginning so when I do eat I am trying to eat on the "healthier" side. For some reason I now crave salad!

Re: Eating Habits
At first I was all about eating healthy- veggies at every meal, no soda, healthy snacks... then morning sickness hit and I just ate what I needed to to get through it. I haven't really gone back to eating very healthy. I *try* to keep the snacks healthier- fruit, veggies, nuts, granola bars, etc. But it's Halloween- there's been a lot of candy.

Eating Habits
Not really mainly because I had horrible nausea up to a week ago and was just eating whatever would make me feel better which was usually bagels
Now I have no choice since my sugar is already elevated and I"m only 15 weeks.

Re: Eating Habits
My eating habits were pretty good before, but I've been hit with bad nausea and vomiting for the past three weeks. All I want is ice cold water and I usually munch on bagels or crackers, and some chocolate to kill the taste in my mouth. I'm hoping for respite within the next few weeks.

Re: Eating Habits
Normally I eat very well. My diet has been bad and I'm in 2nd tri. I posted on here about it, I have soda, sugar, carbs, all junk. Spoke with my OB and she said whatever you have to do for now. I have been trying to add in better foods , very slowly because I'm still feeling sick.

Re: Eating Habits
i normally eat very well. with occasional treats.
my first tri was all carbs and salt because it's all i could handle. then my second tri i got back on track. but i did allow myself snacks and treats that i wouldnt normally have when i really wanted it.
i worked out the entire pregnancy and stayed fit. dont pay attention to the scale necessarily, because i gained way more than people thought i did.. and i carried small.

Re: Eating Habits
I eat moderately healthy, but I allow myself treats now that I would have denied myself before... like, if I want some french fries I'll have some, whereas before I was much more strict.
I am guilty of the excessive bagel eating, though. They were the only things that didn't gross me out when I had MS.

Re: Eating Habits
This pregnancy all I want are carbs. I could seriously eat a loaf of Italian bread a day. I still eat healthy things things likes veggies and such but I definitely have indulged in things I wouldn't normally eat if I weren't pregnant. First trimester and the beginning of the second was rough. I only wanted carbs. Just hoping the pounds come off after I deliver.

What type of workouts did you do in 3rd trimester?
I eat only when hungry & try not to snack at night.

i normally weight train heavy weights.
i seriously cut down for my entire pregnancy, but i used free weights to do squats, deadlifts, curls, shoulder presses, bent over rows, upright rows, and i did like side to side ab workouts (like bending one side and then the other). i would do that as a full body workout. i also have a stepper that i would use a few time per week for 30 minutes.
