Boiler Replacement
Our Bolier is OLD....Really OLD....we are thinking of replacing it. It really isn't energy efficient.
What are we looking at in terms of pricing? I am trying to prepare myself for this whopper!
TIA! It is oil heat, btw.

Boiler Replacement
We had our boiler replaced last year. We have oil heat. It was about $5500. We paid about half up front then sent up a payment plan.

That isn't bad! I was thinking it was more near 10,000! That makes me feel a little better!
Do you feel this newer boiler is more efficient? My 2nd floor doesn't really get warm at all and my attic is freezing. We have radiators as well.

Yes I do think its more efficient but we also added blown in insulation to our attic, soffits and garage. It made a tremendous difference. Our daughters room and part of our room is over the garage and before it was terribly insulated and her room and ours was an icebox. We could not get thru another winter with our old boiler and replacing the old insulation. It made a world of difference.

A new boiler won't automatically make the house warm. Chances are it's cold due to insulation and draft issues. That will still be there with a new boiler. A new boiler will be more efficient so your bills may be less.
