IVF Protocol Question(s)

For those that did IVF more than once; would you say your best outcome as far as number of eggs retrieved and mature follicles were based on the meds/protocol your doctor had you on?

I did my first IVF two years ago and was basically just on BC, Lupron and then Gonal F. While I had 11 retrieved; the biggest follie I had two days prior to retrieval was an 18. Long story short; 6 fertilized and basically all ended in M/C.

After getting "other Dr opinions" I was told I probably could have waited an extra day or two to trigger which may have produced better results.

I have since switched doctors but I was wondering.... In your experience, have any of you ladies found that using Gonal or Follistim had better overall success while using Ganirilex, and Menopur than just taking Gonal or Follistim alone?

Also, if you were successful in PG; do you remember if most of your follies were over 20?

Thanks for your thoughts..........

Re: IVF Protocol Question(s)

im probably a bad example..

1st cycle: menopur 150, follistim 300, then upped to 450; Ganirelex and trigger. 8 eggs retrieved, 5 mature. that cycle my estrogen dropped 3 days into stims, and follicles dropped from 13. the did manage to get 8 eggs and the dr. had said that was a struggle.
only 2 fertilized and i had a chemical.
I dont remember follicle sizes..they were all over the place it seemed.

2nd cycle: menopur 150 with lupron microdose am, and 300, to 375 Follistim with lupron microdose PM.
that cycle was controlled a bit better, follicles were good and consistent sizes. 8 retrieved, 5 mature, only 1 fertlized and didnt make it to transfer.

I dont think there is a difference between Gonal and Follistim. I believe they are just different brands of the same drug.

IVF Protocol Question(s)

I've only ever been on gonal and menopur and ganirelix, so not sure how i would react to just gonal alone.

what is the difference between meno and gonal?

IVF Protocol Question(s)

I did 3 IVFS. All with Gonal, Menapur, and Ganirelix. My final IVF which was successful I also used Lupron, HGH, and immune meds. I had the most mature retrieved on the last cycle- 15. I don't remember the exact sizes but some were in the low 20s. CGL
