Paid maternity leave
Anybody hear if the new proposal for a paid 6 weeks leave is going into effect anytime soon in NYC?

I haven't heard a peep from the UFT about it... there's nothing about this on the website. And they're usually pretty outspoken about their priorities and member perks.

What does that mean exactly? That they are most likely not going to establish it?
it means that the city has offered 6 weeks pay but for all NON union members. The UFT would not be granted the 6 weeks pay right now because we are part of a union and no negotiations have been made at this time.
