Cabbage soup diet
I'm doing the cabbage soup diet starting today. I did it a few years ago and it was definitely effective. I've been eating really crappy recently so i need to detox and shed some of these extra pounds. And I need to post about it somewhere so I'll be more accountable. I'll post as I go. I just finished making the soup. I follow the recipe but make a few changes. I don't really like green peppers so I skip them. Towards the end of cooking I add chopped portabella mushrooms and then spinach. You could add whatever veggies you like. I would think chopped broccoli or zucchini would be a good addition too. I also use the spicy V-8 juice and add some siracha sauce.
Starting weight 148
Day 1- today is fruit and as much soup as I want. The first day is always easy. I love fruit and the soup hasn't become boring yet
Day 2- all the veggies and soup I want. Had some cucumber slices for breakfast. Roasted asparagus for lunch. Snacked on cucumbers and green beans. Dinner I was allowed a baked potato with butter. Between that, a bowl of soup and some more roasted asparagus I was full.
Weigh in morning of day 3- 146.4lbs
Day 3- I was good all day and perfectly fine with just the fruits a veggies, but I derailed a bit at night. We had company over and I made a fajita bar with chicken, shrimp and steak. I had some of all the protein and a ton of peppers and onions. I skipped the wrap. I did have a few chips (like 3) and decent amount of avocado, which you're supposed to stay away from. I had one margarita and drank water for the rest if the night. Oh well, I could have easily done a lot worse.
Weigh in morning of day 4- 145.4
Day 4- I was just fine with bananas and skim milk through out the day. I had a big bowl of soup at lunch. I even turned down pizza at a kids bday party, and I love pizza. Lol But again, night time was more of a challenge. DH and I had planned a date night a while ago and had a babysitter. I ordered a burger and sweet potato fries instead of regular. I skipped the bun and only ate a few fries. I also had a few beers.
Weigh in morning of day 5- 144.2
Day 5- easy enough. I had tomatoes with a little evoo for breakfast. Had sliders that I made at home for lunch with a tomatoe and cucumber salad. We had a late soccer game so we ordered in pizza. I skipped the pizza and ordered meatballs. I did cheat and have one garlic knot. Ate soup for a snack
Weigh in morning of day 6- 147 (completely deflating )
Day 6- had cucumbers for breakfast. Had a lunch date with my friend. I had chicken scarpiello, salad with only vinegar and side of green beans instead of pasta. For dinner I had roasted cauliflower and asparagus, 1 stuffed pepper and a couple of grilled shrimp.
Weigh in morning of day 7- 146.2 (I am really hoping the weight loss slowed because I have AF)
Day 7- I didn't follow the guidelines this day at all. I gad the dress rehearsal for my dance recital and was on the go all day. I grabbed a frozen yogurt with walnuts for lunch. Then had a grilled chicken salad for dinner with a side of quinoa with veggies.
Last weigh in 144.2. I had really hoped to lose more, but I really didn't do it 100% the whole time. I plan on trying to keep to the basics of lots of fruits and veggies, healthy proteins and carbs in moderation. I would really like to see the scale drop back into the 130s

Re: Cabbage soup diet
I have been hearing about this for years and have not tried it yet. I think I am going to though. It doesn't seem too difficult and the results seem instant... a good motivator!
