Crying. From when he was saying goodbye to the girls, thanking jack at the tree, Randall meeting his cousins, Randall calling him dad and helping ease his fear the way jack used to for him. Then William walking towards his mom and that huge embrace between them. Balling. Crying out loud, snot everywhere. Complete sobbing. As soon as I was collecting myself, those damn ducks got me all over again.
I always imagine that when my time comes, my father will be there to hug me like that. It hit me so hard. I'm still crying.
I love this show

 OMG. The acting was amazing. The way it all tied together. Just so emotional!!! Wow. I love how through flashbacks it really documented William's whole life. So well done.

This Is Us kills off crucial character... but actor will be back for season two
The creators of NBC's This Is Us broke a lot of hearts during Tuesday's emotional episode by killing off a crucial character.
William Hill (Ron Cephas Jones), the terminally ill biological father of Randall Pearson (Sterling K. Brown), succumbed to his cancer during their Memphis road trip.
The 60-year-old Broadway thespian's former addict character bonded with the son he gave up for adoption by showing him around his Tennessee hometown.
Luckily, Ron assured grieving viewers that he'll definitely be back for season two of the time-hopping hit drama.
'I do know that he's going to carry over into season two in some way, just as well as Jack was in all of season one,' Jones explained to EW.
So happy to see this!

Me too - and I sometimes dream of the day that my mom and I will meet again but it makes me sad to know that I will no longer be here with my children.

I finally watched the episode last night. I knew William was going to die based on last week's previews. I started bawling at the beginning of the episode and by the end I had been crying so much I had such a bad headache,
I am still a mess today when I think about it. I think I am going to have to take the next day off work when they finally show how Jack dies.:

As others have said, I have pictured that scene with William and his mother many times with my own mom.
I cannot tell you how many times that exact scene has flashed in my mind. At the end of my life, my mom is standing with her back toward me; she turns around and hugs me just like that.
I was crying pretty much the entire episode, and I completely lost it at that point; I was still crying the next morning.
