Keratin?
Has anyone asked their dr about getting keratin? I know I can dye my hair but my keratin is basically gone (got it done shortly before I got pregnant) and my hair is ooc from the pregnancy. My stylist uses a type that is washed out during the visit, so it doesn't sit on my head for 72 hrs or anything.
My office wants to do a headshot in the next couple weeks to feature on the website, so it would be great if I could take my hair for it, since I am not going to look super awesome in general bc of the pregnancy.

Re: Keratin?
I had recently messaged my RE nurse about this. I did a treatment a couple weeks ago so that it could be prior to my next transfer attempt. She said that it's okay to do it now but definitely make sure to do it prior to transfer. So their vote is a no, .

Oh boo. I was hoping that since it wasn't a leave-in treatment it might be ok. I had done a search on here but everything I saw was old (and often was in the same discussion as dying being a no-no, and drs say it's ok now).

That's true! I googled it a bunch too and found more no's than yes'. I know it's a bummer!!

Keratin?
My hair dresser won't do it till after I give birth and stop breast feeding. Many blow outs are in my future.

Re: Keratin?
I personally wouldn't. While the formulas have gotten better since the FDA cracked down on them, many still contain formaldehyde, just at lower levels than they did. A lot of hairstylists wear masks while doing it. That would make me too nervous as a preggo.
ETA: Go treat yourself to a good blowout for the headshots!

Agree. The keratin is so strong that I cover my eyes and face with a towel while its being done. My hairdresser keeps the door open while she does it (even in freezing weather) because the chemical smell is so strong.
One time, there was a pregnant lady in the shop finishing a blowout and I had to wait to even start the keratin until she left.
